Cocktails, Cars & Colours of Cuba
Updated: Jun 19, 2019
Everywhere you turn there is a explosion of rainbow. The cars, the buildings then to add to it the music and the people and you have what i call the most captivating city.
Imagine the Mojito's were cheaper than the water... they are ;) the music was louder than the traffic and the salsa was more popular than the floss thank god!
in the past few years i've seen Havana change, becoming much more cosmopolitan, new cocktail bars popping up, fine dining restaurants, Dj's flying in to play and obviously the prices going up but even though, you still feel like your in the glamorous 50's & it certainly still has that old school charm!
below you'll find a short list of some treasures i've come across bars, restaurants, dancing spots but get your Birkenstocks on an get exploring.
Sia Kara: Super quirky bar round the back of the capitol building, serving cocktails and tasty food with impromptu live music
O'reily 304: Vibey rooftopbar with amazing cocktails, try the mango daiquiri. Cocktails come in garnished jars & look good good enough to eat, they do serve food too.
La Bodeguita del Medio: A landmark as apparently its where the famous mojito was invented. need i say more!
Fabrica de Arte Cubano: Real highlight of Havana inside this former factory you'll find an art gallery nightclub, bar, cinema & exhibitions with a hefty schedule of events.
El Cocinero: Restaurant & bar with great food, a little pricey but totally worth it, located by FAC (see above) there is a gorgeous terrace, good music, industrial style decor and a attracts a great crowd
Cafe Arcangel: Best place to spend your morning and watch the world go by, set in a picuresque square and serve good breakfasts and great coffee
La Zorra y El Cuervo: well you cant come to Havana without listening to some jazz! small cover charge but includes drinks and some of the best live music you'll ever hear!
